The School of Early Childhood (SEC) takes pride in linking teaching, research and community service in early childhood settings.

Students may spend time in the Kelvin Grove State College and Preparatory Year, the Kelvin Grove Child Care Centre and the Herston Road Creche and Kindergarten thereby increasing skills in observing children and interacting with parents.

The Kelvin Grove State College

The new Education Queensland Preparatory Year facility at Kelvin Grove State College will be equipped with observation technologies for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research purposes.

The Kelvin Grove (UniGuild) Child Care Centre

SEC supports the Guild staff in promotion of high quality long-day care services for young children (0-5) and families.

Herston Road Creche & Kindergarten

Situated on campus, this centre offers programs for children (0-5). This Queeensland Creche & Kindergarten Association site works in partnership with SEC in teaching, research and community development activities.

The QUT Children's Art Archive is an invaluable international collection of children's art. The Children's Art Archive helps to create a special environment within SEC. Many children's art-works from the collections are displayed throughout the School premises.
